Artist Reflections
I wanted to capture that quiet yet overwhelming moment where you stop and reflect in the darkness, hoping no one else can hear you. It’s an emotional eruption, an intense collision of fear, betrayal, anger, and sorrow as you realize the very body you’ve always trusted is now turning against you. But there’s also confusion: your body is still a part of you. Are you fighting against it? Is facing cancer really a war we wage against ourselves? These were questions my mom and I often discussed as we tried to navigate the complex relationship between body, illness and identity.
