Short Description

Inspired by a bittersweet memory of Francesca’s mother, who, still groggy from anesthesia, insisted on finding her phone to reassure the family that ‘everything is fine’, this track captures the dissonance of pretending to be “fine” amid chaos and disorientation. Humor and irony highlight the surreal instinct to soothe others while breaking inside.

Artist Reflections

This song captures a moment that’s both heart-wrenching and, in retrospect, almost surreal. When my mom woke up after her first surgery, she video-called me from the hospital to tell me she was fine. But I could see the exhaustion and vulnerability in her eyes and voice, the struggle to keep her composure. I wanted to capture that bittersweet blend of strength and fragility, the need to reassure others even when you’re barely holding on yourself. We’ve all done it in some way or another: told the world we’re fine to shield others, or ourselves, from the weight of our struggles. ‘Io Sto Bene’ is a reminder that it’s okay to not be okay. We all have the right to freak out. And that right is sacred.
